Soft hair...here we come!

I have had every hair color imaginable!  Unfortunately I don't have the privilege to have my hair colored at the salon. That being said, i do whatever i can get to get my hair smooth and shiny.

Lets start off with some natural stuff!
First consider your hair type.

    1. If you have thick hair or knotted Hair, you might want to avoid masks mainly because you would use up a lot of ingredients. Try giving the almighty OLIVE OIL a try. Put olive oil in a bowl and warm it up in the microwave. Keep in mind that oil heats very fast so don't put it in for more than 10 second at a time. You want it to be nice warm not HOT! Put it all throughout your hair including the roots and the tips as well. Keep it on all night, or for 45 minutes. The longer the better! Shampoo and condition, and you're all set!

2.  For Dry hair you can give the recipe  above a go as well, or try and avocado hair mask. Get a nice AVOCADO ready by cutting it in half and emptying into a bowl. Smash the avocado until it gets into a smooth consistency. Add two nice spoon fulls of MAYONNAISE (i know it sounds gross but its very nutritional for your hair!) and lots of OLIVE OIL, as much as you think you need. Leave it on for 20 minutes. Rinse, shampoo, and condition! This only work if you really get the avocado into a nice smooth consistency, no chunks no matter how small!

  3. If you have oily hair grab some BAKING SODA and put it in a bowl and mix it with you SHAMPOO (50/50 ratio) and some WATER. Leave this on for an hour and your good to go!

Now for the store bought products!

1. The first thing is more on the natural side! This is one of my favorite masks to buy because its so cheap but still does wonders for my hair. This little packet is called the REPLENISHING PAK by Organic ROOT Stimulator. I can promise you it will do wonders for your hair! It only costs $1.79 at my local RITE AID, but it's in any drug store. If you have thick long hair you might want to consider purchasing two.

2. The next little packet is the same price. This is more refreshing as it has a cooling effect as you apply it. If you like a more chemical sort of approach to hair care this packet it great! I switch from these two packets mainly because i love them both!  This one is called OPTIMUM CARE salon collection, deep conditioning masque by SoftSheen-Carson. For $1.79 this is one heck of a bargain.

Couple more tips for amazing hair!

1. For your last rinse as you're washing your hair, rinse with super cold water. This will make your hair very shiny!
2. Why not give vinegar a go?  mix water and vinegar together about 30/70 ratio 30 being vinager and use that for your last rinse.
3. Dont towel dry your hair! Putting your hair up in a towel to dry is very damaging!
4. Brush your wet hair with a wide toothed comb, a bush can damage your hair because its just too rough and basically yanks it out!
5. If you wash your hair everyday try cutting it down to every other day. At first it might seems gross but your pores on your head will adjust, thus producing less oil.
6. Purchase a dry shampoo for those days that your aren't washing your hair. This will make you hair feel nice and clean but more importantly let your hair have a rest fro the harsh shampoos. If you don't want to buy a dry shampoo you can use a translucent makeup powder on your roots to get rid of the oil, or use baby instead!
7. Massage your scalp and get a regular trim! This will help your hair look nice and healthy while its growing!
8. Take a new shampoo and conditioner into consideration! I love Mane 'n Tail shampoo and conditioners! Give them a go! They really help my hair grow.
9. I just started using Aussie's hair insurance leave-in conditoner! Its really amazing!

I really hope you guys find these tips helpful! Remember, be patient with your hair, soon enough it will be were you want it to be! - XOXO Valentina

Who needs the big buck spenders!

I love skin care products, from Clean and Clear to Burt's Bees. I've tried harsh chemicals and natural products. What seems to give the best results for my skin are home remedies. Plus you save money!

I AM A HOME REMEDY FREAK! A few years back I started to look into natural home remedies for my skin, and I have never looked back! There are home remedies for anything you can imagine, while some might not work, others work like magic! I have selected a few that I would love to share with you guys!

For skin care: You have to make sure you know what skin type you have, this will make choosing the perfect home remedy for you much easier.
OILY SKIN
  •  MASK: Try giving oatmeal a chance! get oatmeal, a tad of lemon juice and enough olive oil to make these ingredients into a mask. Warm this little miracle up and apply all over the face, including all the oily parts. let it sit till dry and wah-lah! it should of sucked all the oil out of your face. Rinse your face with warm water as well as cold to get those pores sealed shut!

  • MASK: This involves eggs! You will need the white of the eggs. Separate the whites and beat them until they turn all nice and foamy, you will then want to add a little bit of lemon juice mix it up and apply a thin coat of this all over your face! Then  rinse with warm water and then a nice shock of cold water!
  • SCRUB: A scrub can do wonders for oily skin! Mix up honey, brown sugar (or raw sugar) and a little bit of lemon juice and scrub it all throughout your face! Make sure that you don't scrub to hard! Then rinse with warm water and cold water to close your pores
DRY SKIN TO NORMAL SKIN
  • SCRUB: This is my favorite! Mix honey, brown sugar, and olive oil. scrub scrub scrub! rinse and then pat dry! The olive oil should leave your face feeling super moisturized!
  • MASK: Mix together avocado and honey, to get a nice all over moisturized feel!
 EXTRAS!

  • EYELASHES: This is such an incredible tip I get to share with you guys! get some pure petroleum jelly, other wise known as VASELINE! put a nice thin layer on your eye lashes, mainly at the roots before you go to bed. In a few weeks you should have thicker and longer lashes!!
  • LIPS: if your lips are cracked you shouldn't use this, use olive oil and sugar to scrub away all the dead dry skin from your lips! Not only will they be super soft but look bigger as well!

I really hope you guys gives this a go! Just a little warning before hand, if you have sensitive skin avoid the scrubs, instead try using honey all over or just olive oil if you have dry sensitive skin. PLEASE! Don't use a recipe if you are allergic to an ingredient in it. Try substituting!  If you have acne try and softer scrub with cinnamon instead of sugar.
-here's to using home products! XOXO Valentina!
